Bravos galore for 17-year-old Alex Pan who emerged triumphant in the Sydney Eisteddfod Actor’s Championship (16-21 years). Alex scored his victory performing a 12-minute program that included Shaw Nelson’s poem The Orange Tree, along with excerpts from Kurt Vonnegut’s absurdist classic Slaughterhouse Five and John Romeril’s dramatic work Chicago, Chicago.  Alex impressed adjudicators with his good voice and occasional daring.

Katerina Moralitis commended his intelligent delivery of the three contrasting pieces, while Melvyn Morrow described his performance as ‘a class act.’ The overall standard of performance in this event was high with Jacob Taylor finishing a close second and Elise Anderson claiming third place.
