Anthony Phelan is a well-known and established Australian actor with over 35 years’ experience in stage, film and television. He began life in Queensland in speech and drama, and singing sections at various Queensland Eisteddfods and has gone on to star in award winning productions in all of these areas. More recently, for television, he has appeared in Wanted, series 1 & 2 (Seven Network), The Kettering Incident (Foxtel), Deep Water (SBS), Seven Stages of Ambiguity (ABC), some recent stage credits include Uncle Vanya (Sydney Theatre Company), King Lear (Bell Shakespeare), Twelfth Night, The Wild Duck, Mother Courage and Her Children, Hamlet (Belvoir). He has toured nationally and internationally, notably the Adelaide Festival, Melbourne Festival, Perth International Arts Festival, The Ibsen Festival, Oslo, Vienna Festival, and the Lincoln Centre Festival, New York.

Anthony has worked with children in various productions and workshops. He started his working life as a school teacher, and credits much of his love of acting to speech and drama skills learnt in eisteddfods.
