Classical Singing

Anne-Maree McDonald studied at theVictorian College of the Arts before joining The Australian Opera as a Principal Soprano. She sang lead roles in The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni,The Mikado,Trial By Jury, La Cenerentola, La Buona Figliuola, Countess Maritza, Gianni Schicchi,The Magic Flute, Boris Godunov and Voss.

With Dame Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge she appeared in The MerryWidow,Dialogues of the Carmelites, Alcina and Les Huguenots and in London she sang in Dame Joan’s 70th birthday gala at Australia House. Oratorio includes Bach B Minor Mass, Bach Magnificat, Handel Messiah, Mendelssohn Elijah, Faure Requiem and the Poulenc Gloria with orchestras in Australia and the UK. Music theatre includes leading roles in My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof, The Seven Deadly Sins, Gershwin the Musical and The Outback Divas.

She was Music Director for Jekyll and Hyde (Taiwan tour) Hats Off! 2010/11, Floyd Collins, New Musicals Australia Launch Concert,Tell Me On A Sunday, Gavin Lockley’s Ballads of the Bush, Shout! -The Legend of TheWild One,A Life On Earth with Peter Cousens,Mad Songs of Englishmen with Stuart Maunder andThe Sound of Rodgers.

She is also a teacher of singing covering both the classical and music theatre repertoire.
