Sydney Eisteddfod is delighted to announce that entertainment reporter, television presenter and Sydney Eisteddfod ambassador Angela Bishop will be the compere of the 2017 Australian Choral Grand Prix.
As one of Sydney Eisteddfod’s highly successful alumni, Angela’s own experience on stage has inspired her help the young performing artists of Australia blossom into professional and confident adults.
Between the years of 1972 and 1984, Angela competed in a variety of events, with her most memorable placing being The Bulletin Verse Speaking Award 16/u, which she won in 1982 against “very fierce” competition.
“A lot of what people learn through Sydney Eisteddfod contributes to career choices. It was a huge part of where I am at the moment. I don’t think this is where I would be if it wasn’t for Sydney Eisteddfod” she explained.
Sydney Eisteddfod cannot wait to witness Angela work her magic on the crowds of this fabulous event and is very honoured to have her continued support for the entire 2017 Festival.
The Australian Choral Grand Prix will take place on Sunday 20 August at 2.30pm in the John Vallance Hall of Sydney Grammar School.
