2017 Young Virtuoso State Finalists Announced!

The 2017 Fine Music Young Virtuoso Award finalists have officially been announced after being selected from three Sydney Eisteddfod events, the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship, NSW Doctors Orchestra Sydney Eisteddfod Instrumental Scholarship and The John Allison & Sydney Eisteddfod Piano Scholarship.

Two musicians were chosen from each category and will now have the opportunity to perform in the Finals which will be broadcast live from the Founders Studio on Sunday 27 August 2017. 

The finalists from the:

Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship
Imogen-Faith Malfitano (Wollongong, NSW) 
Jessica Harper (Newtown, NSW) 

The John Allison & Sydney Eisteddfod Piano Scholarship 
Enrico-Sergio Mainas (Maroubra, NSW) 
Jennifer Hou (Ashfield, NSW) 

NSW Doctors Orchestra Sydney Eisteddfod Instrumental Scholarship
Rachel Thompson (Oatley, NSW) 
Jamie McCarthy (Croydon Park, NSW)

Adjudicated by Luke Spicer, Clemens Leske and Narelle Yeo, the six finalists will have to impress the judges for their share in the prize pool of over $5,000. There is also $500 on offer for the Audience Choice Prize , which will be awarded to the finalist who receives the highest number of audience votes. 

Sydney Eisteddfod is overjoyed to partner with Fine Music 102.5 for this event which is sure to offer invaluable learning experiences and provide countless opportunities for these talented performers.
